Ok this is my blog charting my journey. This journey will take me hopefully to a place where I will be fit and healthy. The vehicle that will take me to my destination will be P90X dvd's.
The program lasts for 90 days, working out for 6 days a week and if I choose I can do some stretching exercises on the 7th. The 'x' in the title stands for extreme so I know I will find it very hard as I haven't exercised for over 20 years, coupled with a very bad diet and countless pints of cider this has led me to be (an honest) 105kg. My resting heart rate is 90bpm plus so this has got to change.
I think the hardest part wont be the exercise, it will be the diet. I not only have to change pretty much everything that I eat but also strictly watch the calories. It is estimated that I will use around 600 calories a day during the exercise.
I took the fitness test for P90X and failed. But Im not bothered as I may take a week or two longer than the 90 days just to get my fitness up to a level where I can complete the course (hopefully without having a heart attack).
All exercises will take place in a garage so I apologise for the mess but it is the best I can do. My sister will be taking the photo's (she is available for weddings, christenings and bar mitzvahs). At some point soon I will have to buy all the supplements, drinks and food bars. They wont be the P90X endorsed items but if I can buy similar cheaper then I will. After all there is a lot to buy over the 90 plus days.
So this is my first entry, my prelude to pain and aching limbs. My next entry will be the first workout and that will be the day the DVD's arrive. Wish me luck
Below is the only photo that doesnt shock me. Its not great but its not as bad as the front
